Samsung Smart ControlUN55JU7100After lots of research during Black Friday 2015, I made my choice towards this Samsung TV. It’s pretty responsive, clear picture for most of the video sources, 4K videos show just amazing, perfect Wi-Fi connectivity, easy to use Web Browser, Smart remote control is fun and extreme convenience.

Play/Pause button is awesome; works with most of the streaming apps, especially YouTube.

I was able to pair Playstation 4 game controller over Bluetooth to play games. Worked very well with my PS3 system as well. I recently found out I can turn on the PS3 and off thru this amazing remote and also use it like the PS Move controller to navigate the Playstation Menu. Browsed thru pictures on the USB drive and also it found pictures on the Wireless Router system with DLNA.

Mirroring pictures and streaming music from iPhone thru Samsung SmartView app is great but video streaming didn’t work well, it always breaks. (Edit Nov 2016: Found that video streaming is much better when both the phone and the TV is on the 5GHz Wireless band)

Other downsides; Flash videos are not supported thru the Web Browser so some videos will not play while browsing the web.

Sling TV app is not available in Tizen OS at the time of this writing. YouTube app hangs forever if you happen to start it right away after turning on the TV. (I had to re-install the app to resolve. Edit Nov 2016: Not experiencing any more or as often.) Despite a few areas that need improvement, I’m pretty happy overall with it and just expecting firmware or app updates for much better experience. (Edit Nov 2016: Windows 10 mirroring works almost perfectly now with both my 2016 Lenovo and an older Acer laptop. Lenovo couldn’t connect earlier; I suppose either Intel or Samsung update fixed it.) Let me know if you have any questions or comments!
